Books on the History of the Prophets

Al-Hadith
By: Rasul Ja'fariyan
Accounts of the divine Prophets were carried out as part of Islamic historiography by various scholars in books entitled al-Mubtada' which means the beginning or the origin. These works deal with the history of mankind since the beginning or the creation of Adam till the time of the last divine messenger, Prophet Muhammad (S). In this field also the Shi'ites did not lag behind. Part of the book al-Mubtada' wa al-Mab'ath wa al-Maghāzī by Abān bin 'Uthmān Ahmar Bajallī, the extant portions of which we have published as mentioned earlier in this article, indicates that the recording of such traditions also existed among the Shi'ites, although, as we have said in the introduction to this book, it contains certain narrations from Israelite sources, which are of course not acceptable

Fire of Barzakh Leaps Out of a Grave

Al-Hadith
By: Ayatullah Shaheed Sayyid Abdul Husain Dastghaib

Quoting narrations of some reliable and trustworthy people, the late Shaykh Mehmood Iraqi has mentioned in Daar-us-Salaam that once we went to the graveyard of Imamzada Hasan (Tehran). Sun had not yet set. One of our companions sat down on the stone of a grave. Suddenly he shouted: Please lift me up. When we lifted him we saw that the stone was almost red hot

Non-Muslims, Read This

Al-Hadith
By: Dr. Muhammad Legenhausen

Did you ever ask yourself the question: "Why am I not a Muslim?" Probably not. But please consider it for a few moments.
Many will say that they are not Muslims because they were not raised that way. They were raised as Jews, or Baptists, or as Hindus, or as Buddhists, or, like me, as Roman Catholics, or even without any structured religion.
But is this a good reason for maintaining a religion

Eid al-Mubahila

Events And Battles
24th Zilhajj 10th Hijrah is celebrated as the Eid al-Mubahila. On this historical occasion, Islam emerged triumphantly against Christianity. The historical event of Mubahila also reveals the exalted status of the Ahlul Bayt[Family of the Holy Prophet (S.A.W.)].This milestone event in Islamic history since then has assumed the signifance of Eid in the history of Islam.
In the early days of Islam, Najran was a large centre of people in Yemen who had changed from idol worship to Christianity. The Holy Prophet (S.A.W.) had sent letters to the heads of different countries inviting them to Islam. One such letter was addressed to the Christians of Najran. It read as follows:
"In the Name of the God of Ibrahim, Ishaaq and Ya'qub

The Issues of Jurisprudence

Al-Hadith
by:Martyr Ayatullah Murtada Mutahhari

For us to form an acquaintance with jurisprudence it is necessary for us to recognise its different sections. Previously we said that the range of jurisprudence is extremely wide, for it contains all the subjects related to all the actions about which Islam contains instructions.
The famous classification of today is the same classification first introduced by Muhaqqiq Hilli in his Sharay'i and which Shahid Awal has briefly commented on and explained in his Qawa'id. Amazingly the most proficient of those who have composed commentaries of the book Sharay'i amongst them Shahid Thani in his Masalik, made not the slightest comment or explanation about the classification of Muhaqqiq, and the First Shahid in Lum'a has not even followed Muhaqqiq's system

Guarantee of the Enforcement of Law

Al-Hadith
By:Martyr Ayatullah Dr Muhammad Husayni Behishti & Martyr Dr Muhammad Jawad Bahonar

As already said, we mean by law the regulations formulated and supported by a general authority. Hence there exists a sort of guarantee of their enforcement.
The factors which guarantee its enforcement naturally vary in the case of different kinds of law. From our description of law and its sources it is easy to understand the nature of this variation.
In this connection what appears to be necessary is to throw a little more light on the factors which guarantee the enforcement of law under the social system of Islam. These factors are as under

Arbitration in Islam

Al-Hadith
By:Martyr Ayatullah Dr Muhammad Husayni Behishti & Martyr Dr Muhammad Jawad Bahonar

From time to time differences arise on various questions between the people living together. Historical and personal experience shows that no society has ever existed, between the individuals or the social organizations of which there have never been any differences. Such differences have always existed in all societies from the primitive and semi‑barbaric to the most advanced and civilized

No Scope for Doubt in Divine Knowledge

Al-Hadith
By: Ayatullah Shaheed Sayyid Abdul Husain Dastghaib

As we have described in the story of Ibrahim (a.s.) and four birds, he caught and cut into pieces a crow, a *****, and dove and a pea*****. Then he mixed their crushed meat so that it could not be separated from one another. Then, as per a narration, made seventeen heaps of it and put them at seventeen places on different hills. Then he took the head of dove in his hand called it out. In response, all the particles of its meat flew from every station and re-assembled to but it did not join. One's head was not being joined with another's body. In short, there is no chance of any error in the knowledge of God

Rules related to socializing

Al-Hadith
Do you not see that Allah knows whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth? Nowhere is there a secret counsel between three persons but He is the fourth of them, nor (between) five but He is the sixth of them, nor less than that nor more but He is with them where ever they are; then He will inform them of what they did on the day of resurrection: surely Allah is Aware of all things.”
al-Qur’an · Surah Mujadilah · Ayah 7
