I watched the plundering of my inheritance till the first one went his way but handed over the Caliphate to Ibn al-Khattab after himself

As news spread that the Prophet would be performing pilgrimage, many people came and joined. Some sources put the number that accompanied the Prophet from Mecca to Madina at 120,000. Although, the total number of pilgrims far outnumbered that. This count is not surprising since this was the first pilgrimage since migrating to Madina, so many wanted to join the Prophet and be a part of the auspicious occasion

During the night of Ashura the Imam and his companions offered prayers, sought Divine forgiveness, and made supplications. The night eventually came to end and the morning of their day of glory arrived. It has been written by Shaykh Mufid in his book entitled al-Irshad and by Tabari in his Tarikh that after dawn prayers the Imam arrayed his companions, out of whom thirty two were mounted and forty were on foot. He entrusted the command of the right wing to Zuhayr bin Qayn and that of left wing to Habib ibn Mazahir and also entrusted the standard to his brother Abbas

The name of "Zaynab" is like a "sun" shining in the Islamic history. What we know about her life and her character is not enough and there is still more to know. Her auspicious birth was on 5th of Jamadi-Ul-Aval, in 5 or 6 A.H. She was the daughter of Imam Ali (A.S) and the Islamic honourable Lady Fatemeh Zahra (S.A). The Prophet [pbuh] named her "Zaynab" explaining that this name was the combination of two words "Zayn" and "ab" which meant father’s adornment, in other words she was like an image of Imam Ali's (A.S) character

Many years lapsed after painful martyrdom of Prophet's daughter. After her, Ali (a.s.) had married with Ammame, Prophet's (s.a.w.a.) granddaughter. With lapse of more than ten years from the heart-rending event, Ali (a.s.) was still sorrowful for missing Zahra.

The Prophet's household had a strange destiny. Hashemites were oppressed while they had utmost honor and grandeur. When Ali (a.s.) had decided to marry, he was aware of Ashura. He called his brother, Aqil, who was expert in genealogy and know well various tribes and clans, as well as their moral and spiritual characters and features. He asked him: Find a qualified spouse for me, from a clan the ancestors of which are among the brave and lionhearted men, so that such a wife could bring a courageous and brave son for him

The Beginning

The people in the palace slept. The guards and the soldiers stayed up. They were walking through the porches. They were carrying torches, swords and spears. Two guards stood at the door of a big hall. Al-Hajjaj bin Yousif al-Thaqafy, the Iraqi ruler, slept in the hall. The guards said to his friends:
I've heard that the prince has become crazy
The other said:
His behaviour shows his madness. He has not slept since he killed Saeed bin Jubayr. He always wakes and shouts with alarm: "Why have I killed him?" I heard him saying to Dr. Tyyadok: "I am always dreaming that I see Saeed bin Jubayr pulling my neck. I heard him saying: "Allah's enemy, why have you killed me?" The Prince has killed over one hundred thousand men and women. There are fifty thousand men and thirty thousand women in his prisons
